Webinar: SZW List 2026

Theo Scheffers 1 min read

The SZW List is updated annually with revised and new occupational exposure limits. In this webinar, we discuss the changes for 2026 and how they are processed in DOHSBase.

From “in any case” to a full overview

The SZW List is an “in any case” list: it names substances and groups that must be treated as CMR at minimum, but it does not cover every CMR substance. DOHSBase expands the list down to CAS level and supplements it with all other CMR classifications (CMR+) from ECHA CLH, the Dutch Health Council and other authoritative sources. The difference in counts is substantial:

Comparison table of SZW 'in any case' list versus CMR+ 'complete' overview per category: CarCat 1A/B H350 carcinogen 560 versus 1769 CAS numbers, MutCat 1A/B H340 mutagen 51 versus approximately 2000, RepCat 1A/B/2 H360/1 H362 reprotoxic 337 versus approximately 5000

Background

The SZW List (List of carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic substances) is a key instrument for compliance with the Dutch Working Conditions Act. Employers are required to minimize exposure to these substances. DOHSBase integrates the SZW List into the database so users can immediately see which substances are listed and which limit values apply.
